CHERRIES boss Jason Tindall is hopeful both Diego Rico and Adam Smith could be involved to face Middlesbrough tomorrow.

The defensive duo missed Tuesday night's Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace due to knocks.

Smith played 90 minutes against Blackburn Rovers last weekend, but failed a late fitness test to be part of the squad against the Eagles, leaving Cherries with just six subs instead of the allotted seven.

Meanwhile Rico has been absent for both games against Blackburn and Palace due to a thigh problem.

Speaking this morning, Tindall said: "Adam Smith hopefully should be okay. We'll see how he is today, but fingers crossed he comes through training and is able to be involved tomorrow.

"Diego is another one that will be out there today and again, it's just seeing how both of those players come through today's training session. Fingers crossed at least one of them is available for the weekend."

Tindall added: "Fortunately enough no new injury concerns from the Crystal Palace game, which was refreshing and pleasing to hear.

"We know Chris Mepham and Steve Cook went into the Blackburn game 70 per cent fit in terms of where they are from previous weeks and the injuries they've had and what Cookie picked up. But they've had a good week's training this week, so hopefully should be in a good place."
