SIMON Francis and Andrew Surman have both left Cherries after the club decided against renewing their contracts.

The pair were both keen to extend their stays at Vitality Stadium, but following talks this week, both will now leave the club.

Francis, 35, has been at the Dorset club since 2011, taking the captain's armband in 2016.

He made a total of 324 appearances for the club.

Surman, 33, spent part of the 2005-06 campaign at Cherries on loan before joining again from Norwich City in 2013.

The midfielder made 226 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.

Charlie Daniels, who is also out of contract, will continue to train at the club throughout pre-season as he battles back from knee surgery.
