MARK Molesley has been spotted at Southend United's training ground this morning.
Cherries under-21s assistant manager Molesley has been in talks with the Blues since the weekend having visited Essex and a deal now appears to be close.
The Weymouth boss was reportedly at the Shrimpers' Boots & Laces training ground earlier today, according to the Southend Echo.
Southend, who were relegated to League Two last season, have gone more than six weeks without appointing a successor to Sol Campbell.
Molesley, who mulled his future over this week, has led Weymouth to back-to-back promotions as the Terras returned to the National League after an absence of 11 years.
Weymouth have made every effort to keep the former Cherries midfielder at the Bob Lucas Stadium but the 39-year-old appears to be edging closer to joining the Shrimpers.
Bookmakers currently have Molesley as the 1/10 favourite for the Southend job after being as long as 10/11 yesterday.
