JASON Tindall says he will be "looking to implement a lot" of what Eddie Howe did as Cherries boss, adding: "My apprenticeship couldn't have been done alongside a better manager and a better person than Ed."

Tindall served almost 12 years as assistant manager to Howe, during two spells at Cherries and also a stint at Burnley.

He stepped up to become Howe's successor on Saturday, a week after the former boss departed the club by mutual consent following relegation from the Premier League.

Asked what he wants to take from Howe into his own management style, Tindall said: "There's probably too long a list to list but I've been by Ed's side from the moment he stepped into management so I've learnt an awful lot from him.

"I'll be looking to implement a lot of that. But we're different characters and I've got my own ideas and I'll be looking to implement my own ideas in terms of when the players come back out on the training ground and what I expect from them moving forward."

He added: "My apprenticeship couldn't have been done alongside a better manager and a better person than Ed and what he's done for this football club is nothing short of a miracle.

"I couldn't have learned alongside a better person. What needs to be done now, obviously with the short turnaround from the season just gone to the start of the new season, you're restricted by time.

"There's a lot of planning that needs to be done to make sure that when the players report back on Monday everything is in place and we're ready to go."
