ON THIS DAY - AUGUST 11, 2018
EDDIE Howe hailed "two moments of quality" which guided Cherries to opening day victory over Cardiff City at Vitality Stadium.
A goal in each half, from Ryan Fraser and Callum Wilson, saw Howe's charges to a 2-0 win over the newly-promoted Bluebirds.
It was the first time in four attempts Cherries had won their first game of a Premier League season.
“It was a tough game and full respect to Cardiff because they gave everything to the match and it was very competitive,” said Howe.
“I felt we controlled the first half without really opening them up as much as we would have wanted but two moments of quality won us the game.”
