CHERRIES coach Mark Molesley is odds-on favourite with the bookmakers to become the new boss of Southend United.
Molesley, who combines his role of Cherries under-21s assistant to Shaun Cooper with being the manager of Weymouth, is priced at 4-9 with Sky Bet to take the vacancy at Roots Hall.
The 39-year-old has enjoyed huge success as boss of the Terras, guiding them to back-to-back promotions into the National League when he clinched play-off final victory over Dartford earlier this month.
Southend have been on the lookout for a new boss since Sol Campbell left the club at the end of June.
The Shrimpers will compete in League Two in the 2020-21 season, after they were relegated from the third tier when it was curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
