JASON Tindall has been named Cherries' new manager today, succeeding Eddie Howe in the hot seat at Vitality Stadium.

The 42-year-old signed a three-year contract to take over at the helm after Howe departed by mutual consent last Saturday.

A long-time assistant to Howe, Tindall has played a pivotal role in Cherries’ rise through the divisions – having also played 199 times for the Dorset club.

Tindall was appointed non-league Weymouth’s manager with the Terras in turmoil both on and off the pitch in January 2007, when the club was in the Conference.

He spent a year at the helm at the Wessex Stadium before he was sacked in January 2008.

Tindall then took up a role as assistant to Jimmy Quinn in September 2008 as he made his return to Dean Court.

He then re-registered as a player for Cherries in February 2009 as well as being assistant to boss Eddie Howe, as Cherries pulled off a great escape to remain in the Football League.

Alongside Howe, Tindall also guided the club to promotion to League One in April 2010, a 2-0 victory at Burton sending the Dorset club to the third tier.

An 18-month spell at Burnley then followed alongside Howe, before Tindall returned to Dean Court in October 2012.

The duo then steered Cherries to promotion to the Championship in 2013 – only the second time they had reached that level in club history.

And of course, Tindall was assistant when Cherries sealed the Championship title in 2015 – paving the way for five years at England’s elite level.

Now, the former Arsenal and Charlton youngster is set to embark on his next challenge in the hot seat, as he looks to guide Cherries back to the Premier League.
