CHERRIES youngster Frank Vincent is looking to "hit the ground running" after securing a loan move to Scunthorpe United, adding: "I want to prove myself in League Two."

The 21-year-old midfielder yesterday completed a season-long switch to the Iron, having spent part of last season with Torquay United in the National League.

Speaking to iFollow Iron, Vincent said: "I'm buzzing to be here and am looking to hit the ground running.

"I want to be part of something here. That's the main aim. I'm hoping to help the team, hopefully score and set up some goals too.

"I want to prove myself in League Two and show that I can play men's league football.

"It's only my second loan club but I'm buzzing to get started and hopefully I can impress the fans."

Scunthorpe are currently looking for a new manager since Paul Hurst was dismissed in January.

Former Cherries assistant boss Russ Wilcox was in interim charge, but has now resumed his role as Iron's under-23s boss.

Vincent joined Cherries during the 2016-17 season having previously come through the youth ranks at QPR and Barnet.
