CHERRIES are not set to confirm a new manager this side of the weekend, the Daily Echo understands.

The Dorset club have been on the hunt for a new boss since last weekend, following the departure of Eddie Howe by mutual consent.

Jason Tindall has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite for the job and is set to be interviewed alongside other candidates.

Tindall, a long-time assistant to Howe, is thought to want to step into the hot seat at Vitality Stadium and is currently in interim charge.

Cherries chief executive Neill Blake, technical director Richard Hughes and owner Maxim Demin are the three club chiefs in charge of the search for Howe’s successor.

Blake is reportedly set to get married in Russia over the next few days – but the Daily Echo understands he is working remotely and that has not slowed the process for the club to find a new permanent manager.

Cherries are due back in pre-season on Monday, August 17, with the start of the Championship campaign on the weekend of September 12.
