NEWCASTLE are weighing up a double swoop on Cherries to sign Joshua King and David Brooks, according to a report in the Telegraph.

Despite Magpies said to be operating on a transfer budget of around £30million this summer, Steve Bruce is keen to raid Cherries for two of their star men following their relegation to the Championship.

Although Newcastle stuck four past Cherries at Vitality Stadium last month, they are looking to bolster their attacking options after struggling in front of goal for much of the season, scoring just 38 goals in their 38 matches.

Jonjo Shelvey ended the 2019-20 campaign as their top scorer in the league with six goals.

King has been heavily linked with a move away this week with Everton, Brighton and Burnley all reportedly interested.

Brooks has also been the subject of speculation after his return to fitness with Tottenham, West Ham and Leeds among the sides linked with the Welshman.

But the Daily Echo understands Cherries have received no bids for any of their players since the season finished, other than Nathan Ake who is on the verge of completing a £41million move to Manchester City.
