JASON Tindall is now heavily odds-on with bookmakers to be Cherries’ next permanent manager.

The long-time assistant to Eddie Howe is as short as 1-4 with SkyBet to take over from Eddie Howe, who departed Cherries by mutual consent on Saturday.

Former Cherries defender Tindall helped pilot the club’s journey to the Premier League alongside Howe.

He was previously player-manager at non-league Weymouth.

Former Swansea, Middlesbrough and Birmingham manager Garry Monk (5-1) has also shortened in the betting, with Chris Hughton third favourite at 10-1 to take the job.

Lee Johnson (14-1) is also in the frame, according to the bookmakers.
