MANAGER Eddie Howe believes Cherries will have to elevate their levels of performance to take away points from Manchester City but added: “We're capable of doing that.”
The Dorset club head to Etihad Stadium tomorrow (6pm) knowing victory would see them go level on points with 17th-placed Watford in their mission to beat the drop.
Cherries have lost all nine of their Premier League meetings against City but Howe believes now is the time to create history.
The boss said: “I always believe if you haven't done something yet then there is an opportunity to create that moment of history that changes that and that's always been my way of looking at things.
“It's a unique challenge and I think Manchester City is a very different game from any other that you face in the Premier League.
“They've got unique qualities, an outstanding coach, a brilliant team, so we're going to have to be elevated to levels maybe that we haven't given this season to get a result but we're capable of doing that.
“Tactically, it's something we'll prepare for, try to give the players the information they need and we're going to need our best performance of the season to get anything in this game.”
