DANNY Ford admitted Pirates’ chargers were like kids before Christmas, as they prepare to get on track as a team tomorrow.
Five of the Poole septet are poised to take part in a team practice session at Leicester – with Ford to be in attendance to see his new-look SGB Championship line-up in action.
Poole have been unable to turn a wheel as a side this season, with British speedway currently shut down amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking ahead of the session at Beaumont Park, Ford said: “I can’t wait.
“It feels like a lifetime since I’ve been able to see some live speedway. I’ve obviously been watching the Polish speedway on the TV and that just makes you even more keen to see it.
“I am massively excited to go and see some speedway for myself, even if it is just practice.
“We were speaking on the group chat earlier and it’s like kids the day before Christmas.
“A few of the riders have had the chance already but the majority haven’t – they are absolutely buzzing to finally get out there.”
Adam Ellis and Ben Cook are the two Poole riders unable to make the session.
