SKIPPER Simon Francis revealed David Brooks was “fully fit” and “raring to go” for Cherries’ crucial Premier League run-in.

The Wales playmaker has not kicked a ball competitively this campaign after sustaining an ankle injury at Brentford back in pre-season.

But after undergoing two operations on the problem, Francis revealed Brooks, who has been training with Eddie Howe’s men, is ready to step up.

“He’s fully fit now,” said the club captain, speaking about Brooks.

“He’s training with the group and raring to go. He’s been given a second chance at the season because it looked like he would have been out for the whole of it.

“He was devastated at one point but situations can bring positives. There could be a couple of the other lads being back fit.

“Steve Cook hopefully in the next few weeks will be joining back in with training.

“We may have benefitted from the break in this sense and if we can keep our squad fully fit then we give ourselves a better chance.”
