BOSS Eddie Howe admitted a positive test in the ranks for coronavirus “shook” his squad and added: “Suddenly everyone feels vulnerable.”
The Cherries manager was speaking after the club had announced a positive case of COVID-19 in the camp, during the second round of top-flight testing.
After all Cherries’ results came back negative first time round, goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale then tested positive for the virus, as revealed on Monday.
And Howe admitted the case “changes the mindset of everybody”.
He told the Daily Mail: “Naturally, the first thing you think about is the player's health. Then his family and loved ones and making sure he hasn't passed on that infection.
“There was not one positive within our group during the early stages and we were comfortable and felt okay.
“But as soon as you get that one positive test, that changes the mindset of everybody.
“Suddenly everyone feels vulnerable, everyone is alerted to the fact that this is serious and real.
“Then the unknown comes into play. That shook us.
“I imagine anxiety is there among the players. I can only imagine they are feeling the same way as I am.”
