NEIL Middleditch labelled Edward Kennett’s 13 paid 15-point maximum for Pirates as “awesome” after they walloped Wolves 63-27 at home.

The young Brit was quite simply on fire as he powered to his second unbeaten haul in his past five Elite League meetings at Wimborne Road.

Kennett beat former Grand Prix star Peter Karlsson four times as Poole scorched to their biggest home triumph since they crushed Arena-Essex 66-24 on June 19, 2006.

The youngster’s scintillating round-the-boards riding was also a big hit with the Pirates fans in a 3,000 crowd.

Middleditch said: “Ed’s performance was awesome. He just gets more and more confident in every meeting here.

“Ed is also guesting for other clubs as well and scoring big points, not just for us. He can gate, but if he doesn’t gate he can pass. Reputations don’t mean anything to him. Reputations are there to be beaten.”

Pirates: 1 Jason Crump 14+1, 2 Piotr Swist 6+1, 3 Bjarne Pedersen 11+1, 4 Edward Kennett 13+2, 5 Craig Boyce 8, 6 Craig Watson 3+1, 7 Troy Batchelor 8+2.
