NATHAN Ake revealed former England skipper John Terry as the player that influenced him the most throughout his career.
Chelsea legend Terry, who won five Premier League titles at Stamford Bridge, was on the pitch when Ake made his Champions’ League debut in a victory over Maribor in 2014.
He helped the Dutchman through the ranks at Stamford Bridge, as well as making 78 senior appearances for the Three Lions.
Ake joined Chelsea as a teenager before signing for Cherries permanently for £20million in 2017.
Asked which icon influenced him the most on SoccerBible’s Instagram page, Ake said: “I’m probably going to say John Terry.
“He always tried to help the young players coming through to the first team.
“He tried to give you advice, tried to make sure you stayed grounded. I’m 100 per cent going to say him.”
Ake has since gone on to make 140 appearances in the top flight, scoring 12 times and registering five assists.
