ARSENAL are in “pole position” to snap up Cherries star Ryan Fraser, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

The Gunners have been consistently linked with the Scotland international, whose current deal at Vitality Stadium runs out in June.

And the media outlet claims Mikel Arteta’s side are “confident of securing his signature when his contract expires”.

Fraser signed for Cherries from Aberdeen in January 2013 and has helped to guide the club from League One to the top flight.

The 26-year-old has played 208 games for Cherries in all competitions, scoring 24 times and registering 33 assists.

Asked back in January whether he was planning for life without the winger, manager Eddie Howe said: “I think you get to a certain point where you’ve got to be realistic about the situation.

“I don’t think there will be a positive solution in terms of him staying with us, but that’s life, that’s football, that’s Ryan’s decision and we respect it.

“I’ve got no bad feeling towards that, every player has the right to do what they want in their own situation.”
