PUNDIT Darren Bent believes “the next couple of months are important” for Cherries winger Jordon Ibe.

Former Liverpool youngster Ibe’s contract runs out at Vitality Stadium in June. The 24-year-old has featured just four times at senior level for Eddie Howe’s men this season.

Ibe was last week linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic, with Football Insider claiming he was “open to taking a pay cut” to link up with the Glasgow club.

Former England international Bent told the same publication: “I remember playing with him, I was there with him when he was on loan at Derby from Liverpool and I fully expected him to go on to good, good things.

“He was very, very good at Derby but it has kind of stalled. Hopefully, you’d have to say the next couple of months are important.

“Maybe his next move, if he can get out of this country and go and play for a massive club like Celtic, go and win some trophies and then maybe, if he eventually does come back down here, get himself in good form.”

Ibe, signed from Liverpool for £15million in July 2016, has played 92 times for Cherries, scoring five goals.
