THE Wessex League is tomorrow set to hold an emergency meeting over whether to suspend all fixtures due to the threat of the coronavirus.
The majority of fixtures in Wessex Premier and Wessex One went ahead yesterday, despite the Premier League the EFL and Southern League postponing all games.
Portland United’s league clash at AFC Portchester was postponed late on after three members of the Blues’ staff fell ill with flu-like symptoms.
A post on the Wessex League’s Twitter page read: “Please note that there will be an emergency meeting of the league’s management board tomorrow (March 16 2020) at 19:00.
“This has been called to make a decision on whether to suspend all fixtures.
“A statement will be released following the meeting. #coronavirus.”
