WIMBORNE Town boss Danny Holmes believes young goalkeeper Cameron Plain could have a “very good future” at Cherries as he continues to gain experience on loan.

The teenage stopper has been a regular for Magpies this season, helping them to 14th spot in Southern League South.

He is set to be involved when the Cuthbury club make the trip to Dorset rivals Dorchester on Saturday (3pm).

Speaking to BBC Radio Solent, Holmes said: “Cameron has been absolutely excellent.

“He is from AFC Bournemouth. I speak to Gareth Stewart quite a lot and they are doing wonders with him.

“He has progressed unbelievably. The first couple of months I felt coming for crosses he wasn’t too sure.

“But he is only going to improve by being at this level. When he comes away from here – they look at the video evidence, they work hard.

“What mistakes he ever makes they apply all week, which is good for lads. Especially when they are in full-time training – they can go away from here and work on those elements.

“He’s a confident lad. I believe he’s got a very good future for Bournemouth.”

Victory over the division’s bottom side could push Wimborne 14 points clear of the bottom three.
