POOLE Town boss Tom Killick was delighted to bring back Cherries youngster Luke Nippard on loan and added: “He has a strong affinity to the club.”

The talented midfielder, a member of Cherries’ under-21 setup, was born in Poole and started playing for Dolphins’ youth teams before being snapped up by Cherries.

Poole High-schooled Nippard, who has trained with Eddie Howe’s first team, could feature in Dolphins’ trip to Blackfield & Langley in Southern League South on Saturday.

Killick told the Poole Town website: “Luke is a talented midfield player and we hope he will enjoy his time with us and find it beneficial to his own career development.

“Luke is a Poole lad who has previously played in our youth team, so he has a strong affinity to the club.”

Play-off chasing Dolphins are 10th in the division at present but have games in hand on all of those above them. Their home fixtures have decimated by waterlogged pitches.

And Killick was keen to bolster his ranks for the hectic schedule ahead.

“With all the games coming up it is vital to have a strong squad,” said Killick.

“With that in mind, we are delighted to announce that with the kind co-operation of our friends at AFC Bournemouth we have secured the loan signing of Luke until the end of the season.”
