STORM Jorge decimated the fixture list across the Wessex League at the weekend, but it was the sun that was the issue at the County Ground.

Hamworthy United were forced to change into their yellow away kit after just 10 minutes due to the low sun causing difficulty to distinguish between their burgundy shirts and visitors Shaftesbury's red and white outfit.

But the switch seemed to do the trick as Hammers took a 1-0 lead into half-time thanks to a Cameron Munn strike.

That tally was doubled soon after the restart courtesy of an own goal. The Rockies reduced the arrears when Mali Benjamin lashed in after good work by Connor Millar.

But the joy was short-lived as Eddie Hodge added a third for the hosts before Connor Cocklin rounded off the 4-1 victory, their fourth in succession.

The win sees Hamworthy move up to eighth in the league, also taking them top of the division's scoring charts with 69 goals from their 30 games.

In Division One, a Matthew Casey brace and strikes from Harrison Clarke and Jack Ransom earned Ringwood Town a 4-0 win over Whitchurch United.

After securing a first victory in eight attempts, Ringwood stay 14th.
