GOALS from Tony Lee and Sam Davidson saw Wimborne twice take the lead at high-flying Tiverton but Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw in Southern League South.

The visitors gained the upper hand after just four minutes when striker Lee converted after being played in by Luke Burbidge’s precise pass.

Ryan Beckinsale levelled up for Tivvy nine minutes later, before Wimborne went in front once more.

Burbidge’s menacing corner allowed Davidson the opportunity to head in from close range.

But Tiverton hit back again on the half-hour mark when former Weymouth playmaker Chris Shephard picked out Alex Fletcher to head past Wimborne keeper Cameron Plain and seal a point.

The draw put Danny Holmes’s side 15th in the table, 10 clear of the bottom three.
