DANNY Holmes says Wimborne must start "taking advantage" of their home fixtures as they gear up for an exciting run-in in Southern League South.

Following victory at Walton Casuals last weekend, Magpies sit 15th in the table, six points clear of the bottom three.

They host 21st-placed Beaconsfield Town on Saturday, but having lost three of their past five fixtures at Cuthbury, Holmes is eyeing an improvement.

"It's going to be another big game," boss Holmes told Radio Wimborne.

"I'm not going to get carried away. These ones give you the wobbles a bit, your six-pointers. It's the business end of the season, we've got to keep doing what we're doing.

"I think Beaconsfield have picked up a bit. They've certainly not given up. At the moment I think everyone's got to look over their shoulders.

"We've just got to keep working hard. We've got to get the confidence back. Last year we took a lot of points at home and this year Swindon have come to us and found a way to get points, Hendon did last week. "So we've just got to back to taking advantage of our home place, get back to playing on the front foot and with conviction and be aware that teams aren't silly and naive at this level.

"They'll come at us and work hard, but we've just got to match them."
