SUPER Scott Mitchell powered to his first PDC title with a stunning victory at a Challenge Tour event in Wigan.
Scotty Dog came through nine rounds in total to claim the second event of the day, culminating in a 5-1 final victory over Andrew Gilding.
Mitchell, the 2015 BDO world champion, put on a flawless display against the world number 72 to seal the tournament.
He averaged a whopping 99.4 average against the man nicknamed ‘Goldfinger’ having won the opening three legs and closing out the contest with a 13-darter.
Victory scooped Scotty Dog a considerable £2,000 in prize money.
In event one on Saturday, the Bransgore thrower had beaten Carl Hamilton 5-4 before losing out to Darren Latham 5-2.
