MIKAEL Ndjoli is excited by his loan spell at Scottish outfit Motherwell after an “intense” first few days.

The Cherries striker on Monday struck a deal until the end of the season with the Fir Park side, having spent the first part of the campaign at Gillingham.

He could make his debut for the Steelmen when they visit Dundee in the Scottish Cup tomorrow.

Speaking about settling in at his new loan club on their official Twitter feed, Ndjoli said: “It’s been intense but in a good way.

“What the gaffer (Stephen Robinson) demands of all the players is very similar to what the gaffer at Bournemouth demands.

“Just in terms of work-rate, your recovery runs, your attitude to train and staying humble – all of those attributes just in terms of becoming an all-round player going forward.”

Motherwell are currently third in the Scottish Premiership, with 37 points from 21 games.

Ndjoli is no stranger to Scottish football, having scored five goals in 31 appearances at Kilmarnock last season.

“You can never stop learning off the ball,” he added. “Every club has it’s tactics but here, it’s pretty direct in terms of what the gaffer wants you to do off the ball.

“He kind of drills it into you the first minute you are in the club. It’s been good.

“I think he is a manager who I feel can help me improve my game a lot. He’s been letting me express myself and I feel that’s exactly what I need going forward in my career.”

Motherwell boss Robinson added: “Mikael is quick, strong and gives us an option all across the forward line. He will immediately add competition for places.

“He’s already had experience of the Scottish league, which will be of benefit to us. Also, despite his age, he’s already been out on loan twice and got playing time.

“He’s already shown us the enthusiasm he has for this move since arriving on Monday.”
