MANAGER Eddie Howe insisted “things may change” on the future of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for the second half of the season.

The Bosnian international has this week been back training with Cherries’ squad following a short-term loan at Qarabag.

He featured 17 times for the Azerbaijani outfit in all competitions, including five appearances in the Europa League.

West Ham and Aston Villa have been linked with moves for the 32-year-old, who joined Cherries from Chelsea for £10million in the summer of 2017.

Speaking about the experienced stopper, Howe said: “He is back with us, he has trained three or four days and he’s been really good.

“I have been really pleased with him.”

Asked whether he was expecting Begovic to stay with his squad for the rest of the season, the boss replied: “On Asmir, I don’t know.

“I think that’s a situation where things may change but, at the moment, he is part of our group and he’s training very well.”

Begovic last featured for Cherries in April, a 3-1 Premier League home defeat to Burnley.
