CHERRIES winger Harry Wilson insisted he was “feeling good again” after recovering from the niggling injury which saw him briefly return to parent club Liverpool.

The Wales international had been restricted by fluid filling up in his leg after taking a knock two months ago.

But having played in the past three league games for Eddie Howe’s men, as well as Saturday’s FA Cup victory over Luton, the 22-year-old is eager to put the injury concern behind him.

Asked for an update on the problem, Wrexham-born Wilson told the Daily Echo: “It’s better, I think I just needed a week or two for it to settle down and get a bit of treatment. I’m feeling good again.

“I took a knock a couple of months ago and it didn’t settle. It just kept filling up with fluid, so I had to get it drained a couple of times. It was just niggling.

“Thankfully it’s better now, so I can keep going.

“At the start there was pain but as it went on, the fluid in there just felt like it was restricting me when I was playing, bending my leg when I was shooting. It was a bit of a weird one.”

Having returned to Liverpool for further treatment last month, Wilson missed Cherries’ fixtures with Chelsea and Burnley.

He was also ineligible to feature in the fixture against his parent club.

“When we played Liverpool we felt that was the time to do something about it because I couldn’t play anyway,” said the free-kick specialist.

“Because it was such a difficult injury to manage, I went back to Liverpool just to get their thoughts on it. I had a few days of rehab up there letting them take a look.

“The team was out in Qatar but it was nice to see the staff that had stayed behind. It had been a few months since I’d seen them, so it was good to catch up and get my fitness back.”
