SUBSTITUTE Curtis Young struck a dramatic late winner for Wimborne Town as they overcame rivals Poole Town 2-1 at Cuthbury.

Will Spetch looked to have earned the visitors a share of the spoils with an 87th-minute equaliser to cancel out Tony Lee's opener.

But Young popped up shortly afterwards to give Danny Holmes' side all three points.

Kick-off was delayed due to a medical emergency at the ground and the first half provided little in the way of goalmouth action.

Lee missed a big chance to put Magpies ahead shortly after the break and the ex-Poole striker soon netted against his former club, rounding off a swift counter-attack started by goalkeeper Cameron Plain just past the hour mark.

Jamie Whisken headed over the crossbar as Poole looked to reply, before Plain was called into a smart stop to preserve his clean sheet.

However, Dolphins did find a way through when Spetch beat Plain to level the contest.

Back came Wimborne, grabbing a big win through Young with just two minutes to play, which sends his side up to 15th in Southern League South.

Poole sit 10th after a fourth loss in five.
