ED Hodge’s double paved the way for Hamworthy United to overcome Wessex Premier rivals Portland United 3-2 at Grove Corner.

The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead against the Island outfit, Hodge’s goals coming either side of a strike from Ollie Davis.

Portland, managed by former Hammers boss Brendon King, did rally with goals from Ben Morris and Ed Bastick, but Hammers held firm for all three points.

Elsewhere in the division, Luke Churchill, Rian Drake and Ali Zintany scored in Lymington’s 3-2 win over Cowes Sports.
