CHAIRMAN Chris Reeves urged the people of Poole to help cash-strapped Dolphins raise £15,000 and rescue them from their “cash flow desert”.

The club this week launched a JustGiving page to aid their financial strife, after Poole Town had lost revenue with succession of postponed home games.

The Southern League South outfit have only played one home league fixture at Black Gold Stadium since September, with a staggering number of games washed out due to a waterlogged pitch.

Posting on the club website, Reeves said: “Bluntly we are suffering from a cash flow desert and we need help.

“We have held back from starting a crowdfunding page but the time has now come.

“I am confident that the stark financial reality of all the postponements will be self-evident and that all the people of Poole that value what we do will appreciate we need their support to get through this difficult time.”

He added: “The financial significance of getting to Christmas and only having played five league games at home is crippling.

“We have been working towards match day revenue being allocated to meet our outgoings, only to find that revenue doesn’t come for two months.

“No business can survive if, each time it is on the verge of generating income, the means of securing that income is denied it.”

At the time of writing, the club had received £555 of donations from 17 supporters.
