HOLDERS Poole Town are out of the Dorset Senior Cup after defeat at National South side Weymouth.

Dolphins fell behind on 19 minutes when Brett Williams netted from the penalty spot for the Terras.

And the win was sealed deep into the second half through Pat Suraci.

Ollie Dennett came close to replying for Poole, but was denied by a fine Tom Rees stop.

Elsewhere, Callum Butler bagged a hat-trick as Verwood Town came from behind to defeat Bridport and reach the semi-finals of the Dorset Senior Cup.

Butler's quick-fire brace swung the game the way of the Potters on 22 minutes and he completed his treble before half-time.

Lee Vint added another goal for the hosts after the restart and while Bridport pulled one back, Verwood held on to win 4-2.

They join Wimborne Town, Weymouth and Dorchester Town in the last four.

Dorch booked their place in style, swatting aside Wessex Premier outfit Hamworthy United 7-0 with Tom Purrington scoring three.

Elsewhere in cup action, Bashley produced an impressive display to win 4-3 at Hartley Wintney in the Hampshire Senior Cup.

Harry McGrath, Harry Bunce (2) and Harry Morgan netted for Bash.

Lymington Town are out, going down 2-1 at Andover New Street, despite a Tim Stephenson goal.

Brockenhurst exited the Southampton Senior Cup following a 3-1 loss at Solent University. Greg King scored the consolation goal for Brock, who also saw Marlon Mason sent to the sin bin.

In-form Christchurch also suffered cup defeat, losing 2-1 to lower league Downton, despite a Max Wilcock effort.
