POOLE Town now have as many as seven games in hand on some sides in Southern League South following Saturday's postponement against Merthyr Town.
Dolphins have not played a league fixture for over a month due to a combination of cup matches and wet weather deeming the Black Gold Stadium pitch unplayable.
But they were set to return to action yesterday, only for the home clash to be called off at around 1pm with Merthyr's team bus stuck in traffic on the M5 following an earlier accident.
A new date for the fixture is yet to be announced.
Poole now slip to eighth in the table, 11 points off leaders Chesham United but having played at least five games fewer than all the sides above them.
Tom Killick's men are set to return to action at Hartley Wintney in the league on Tuesday (7.45pm).
