HAYLEY Davis insisted the guidance of experienced Parley professional Peter Thompson had been “invaluable” in her qualifying for the Ladies European Tour.

The 26-year-old from St Leonards in Dorset, who represents Ferndown Golf Club, has been under the tutelage of Thompson since January.

Davis enjoyed a stellar campaign on the LET Access Series this season, sealing the order of merit title to book her place on the main tour.

She also triumphed in the Bossey Ladies Championship in France and qualified for her first major championship at the Women’s US Open.

Davis’s main tour place is not Thompson’s first success.

He has previously coached winners of the Australian, Portuguese and Kenyan Open championships as well as guiding Gary Wolstenholme to become England’s best amateur.

Davis said: “Peter’s guidance has been invaluable in me improving enough to qualify.

“I have been a member of Ferndown Golf Club since 2003 and have fantastic support there from the members.

“Parley has all the training facilities a golfer requires and working with Peter since January is helping me fulfil my potential.

“I will now be working hard at Parley to give myself the best chance of doing well on the tour.”

Thompson added: “Nine months after starting with me, Hayley won the order of merit on the Access Tour – way above the second placed golfer.

“The facilities at Parley are excellent with great range mats to play off and the TopTracer range technology.

“The short game practice area is the best for many miles around.

“Hayley believes these short game facilities have really benefited her game and she very much deserved to qualify due to her talent but also her desire to improve her game.”
