CHRISTCHURCH set up a chance for cup revenge against Badshot Lea in the FA Vase second round with a 3-1 victory over Brimscombe & Thrupp.

Goals from Ben Satterley, Josh Kirkham and Luke Stone in the first-round tie at Hurn Bridge ensured Priory in two weeks’ time have the chance to make amends for their FA Cup exit to Badshot from earlier this season.

Brockenhurst made hard work of their away tie, eventually overcoming Bishop’s Cleeve 3-2 with Ronan Moore, Mitch Speechley-Price and Freddie Bullard all on the scoresheet.

Badgers host either Romsey Town or Plymouth Parkway in the next round. They will be joined by Hamworthy United, who visit either Bovey Tracey or Abingdon United.

Hammers were in Sydenhams League Cup second-round action, producing an enthralling contest with Alresford Town.

Racing into a 2-0 lead via Harrison White and Dan Cann, the away side pulled a goal back before half-time.

Alresford equalised shortly after the break but White restored the hosts’ lead almost instantly with his second goal.

But that was the last time Tim Sills’ side led, as Alresford grabbed a double to progress.

Poppies will host Roman Glass St George if they win their clash with Petersfield, which on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Victoria Park.

Elsewhere, Lymington were knocked out in a 1-0 defeat to Bradford Town.

In Wessex One, New Milton were victorious over Totton & Eling, with Jake Cooper and Sam White lifting them to a 2-1 win.

In the FA Trophy, Poole and Wimborne both discovered their first qualifying round opponents.

Dolphins will host Hartley Wintney, while Wimborne will entertain Taunton Town.

Both ties are to take place on the October 26, with £2,450 on the line for the winners, as well as a place in the next round.
