DANNY Holmes admitted Wimborne Town had to “respect” high-flying Tiverton but insisted: “I fancy us against anyone at home.”

Magpies are on Saturday set to host the Southern League South leaders at Cuthbury (3pm), looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Merthyr.

Tiverton have won seven of their 10 league games this season and leapfrogged Poole Town in the table with a 2-1 success over Dorchester last time out.

Boss Holmes told Radio Wimborne: “They (Tiverton) have been going well. They are scoring goals and they did this last year.

“They started very well and then they faded off in the second phase of the season.

“We know they are quick starters and score goals, so we will look at a few things.

“But I fancy us against anyone at home. At home, we do well.

“We just quickly have to learn not to give silly goals away early doors but this is a completely different game all together.

“You have to respect your opponents at this level and we have to be ready to go on the front foot.”

Magpies have picked up eight points from five home league games this season, with two victories and two draws.
