PIRATES have confirmed their SGB Premiership semi-final showdown will take place at Wimborne Road on Monday, September 23.

The defending champions have sealed their place in the climax of the competition alongside Ipswich, Wolves and Swindon.

And while top spot and the pick of opponent for the semi-final battles is still up for grabs, the four qualified clubs held talks to provide an early announcement in order for fans to make arrangements.

The grand final will take place over two legs on October 7 and 10.

Swindon are currently four points clear at the top of the pile after holding on for a 46-44 win at Peterborough on Monday.

The race for first place looks set to go down to the wire with the Robins visiting King’s Lynn next week, while Pirates have three matches remaining – including two at home.

Neil Middleditch’s men face King’s Lynn at Wimborne Road on Thursday (7.30pm).
