DORSET fell well short in the main event at the Unicorns T20 finals day, beaten by nine wickets against Hertfordshire.

Luke Webb's men, who had earlier overcome Lincolnshire by 11 runs in the semi-final thanks to a knock of 40 from Felix Organ and three Jigar Naik wickets, could not repeat the trick in the showpiece contest at Wormsley.

Opener Organ again impressed for Dorset, who won the toss and elected to bat, hitting 48 not out off 49 deliveries.

But wickets steadily tumbled around him with the writing seemingly on the wall at 64 for five.

Dorset eventually closed on 104 for nine with Alex Eckland's 21 the closest in support of Organ.

Hertfordshire opener Steve Gale was removed cheaply in reply, run out for eight, but that proved the only wicket to fall in the second innings.

Harry Ellison (62no) and Ravi Patel (38no) clinched the victory inside 13 overs.
