BOSS Matty Holmes admitted he was thankful to have experienced midfielder Carl Pettefer waiting in the wings to be involved for Wimborne.
The former Totton and Poole Town man was an unused substitute during Magpies’ 1-1 draw at Hendon last time out.
But with Connor Doe ruled out through suspension, 38-year-old Pettefer could be set to feature at home against Taunton on Saturday (3pm).
Holmes told Radio Wimborne: “Petts is there waiting to come in and play, so we have a quality midfielder ready to come in and start.
“I couldn’t quite get him on last Saturday, which was a shame but we will look at that.”
Magpies were also set to assess defender Joe Byrne.
“Joe is carrying a couple of injuries,” said the Cuthbury boss. “His ankle is swollen and his calf has gone into spasm quite a bit. We did so well to get 54 minutes out of him.”
