PIRATES legend Chris Holder hinted at a return to the SGB Premiership next season and said: “Poole would be ideal.”

The 2012 world champion, a Poole asset, was present during Pirates’ 46-44 victory over Swindon on Monday.

Holder, a five-time league winner with Pirates, had been expected to feature in the skull and crossbones during the 2018 campaign but failed to turn a wheel in Britain due to visa issues.

He has been featuring in Poland and Sweden this campaign.

Asked whether he was missing being in the Premiership, Holder told BT Sport: “I am missing it now the GPs are all over (for him).

“Now I haven’t got that stress I’d like to fill in the rest of the week with doing some league racing here.

“Obviously at Poole would be ideal. With the whole visa situation it pretty much ruined everything last year and I haven’t really had enough time to sort it out properly and get back into it.

“I spent a lot of good years here and I am always interested to see how the Pirates are doing.

“Hopefully, maybe next year, who knows.”
