CO-PROMOTER Danny Ford believes Pirates’ crunch double-header with Swindon this week could dictate who finishes top of the SGB Premiership.

Poole host the Robins at Wimborne Road tomorrow (7.30pm) before heading to the Abbey on Thursday.

Despite riding fewer meetings than any other side in the division his season, the Dorset club remain top of the pile and in firm contention of making the play-offs.

Swindon are fourth at present, with meetings in hand on Ipswich and Belle Vue above them.

Ford told the Daily Echo: “I think right now these are the two in form teams in the league. This double-header could dictate who finishes top.

“It cannot be understated what significance these two fixtures will have. Our top four are in amazing form but you cannot overlook their heavy hitters.

“It is going to be really tough and hopefully a fantastic couple of meetings.”

Pirates are once again set to operate rider replacement for the injured Richie Worrall.
