HOLE-IN-ONE hero Hayley Davis stormed to her maiden LET Access Series title, winning by seven shots at the Bossey Ladies Championship in France.

The Poole golfer, 26, shot two scintillating rounds of 65 to sit on 12-under-par, eight shots clear, heading into the final day in Bossey.

And while the third round was not quite as impressive, Davis still posted a below-par 70 to stay well clear of Emma Grechi in second place.

She told the LET website: "I can't actually believe I've done it.

"I've been close quite a few times now so to finally get it and in the way I did I'm very happy.

"I just played with a lot of confidence. Off the tee I hit it really well, I didn't miss many fairways all week so I was putting it in a good position.

"My putting was really good as well.

"A bit of everything really, it all clicked together."

The most memorable moment of a special tournament for the Ferndown Golf Club-affiliated star was the first hole-in-one of her career on the par three fourth on day two.

Davis's mother Samantha acted as caddie for the tournament, giving her a close up view of the achievement.

Discussing the eagle, Davis said: "I started birdie-birdie anyway, so it was birdie-birdie-par-eagle.

"I've never made a hole-in-one so after that I said to my mum I was just 'stay calm now' because I was very happy that I made the hole-in-one."

Davis pockets around £5,110 for the victory and also moves top of the Road to La Largue rankings.
