BOSS Eddie Howe remained tight-lipped on who would start in goal for Cherries against Sheffield United tomorrow.
The likes of Mark Travers, Aaron Ramsdale, Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc have all been given pre-season minutes by the Cherries boss, who admitted they had been “pushing each other” throughout the summer.
Asked who his number one was ahead of the opener against the Blades at Vitality Stadium (3pm), Howe said: “Competition is fierce, we have four good goalkeepers all pushing each other.
“It has been one of the nice things of pre-season for me – to see the squad fighting for positions to play.
“I am not going to reveal who is going to play in this game – you will have to wait and see.”
Speaking about his group in general, the Cherries boss added: “I think the squad is very strong when we get everyone fit.
“That is an aim we are desperately trying to achieve and I think, once we do, it will be the best squad I have ever had the privilege to manage here. Always, the proof is in the results.”
