JORDON Ibe is reluctant to leave Cherries to join either Middlesbrough or Newcastle today, the Daily Echo understands.

Both north-east clubs have been linked in the past week with a move for the 23-year-old, who has just one year remaining on his Cherries contract.

But the Daily Echo understands the London-born winger is not keen on a move too far north, should he leave Vitality Stadium today.

Ibe joined Cherries from Liverpool for around £13million in 2016, a club-record fee at the time. But he has struggled to nail down a spot in the side, starting just nine Premier League games last season.

With the arrivals of Harry Wilson and Arnaut Danjuma, adding to Ryan Fraser and injured duo David Brooks and Junior Stanislas, as well as talented youngsters Gavin Kilkenny and Alex Dobre, there are plenty of options on the flanks.

So while Ibe is currently set to stay put, an exit on deadline day is not totally out of the question should a suitable destination be found.
