HARRY Arter says "family reasons" played a big part in his decision to join Fulham.

The midfielder signed a season-long loan deal with the Cottagers on Tuesday, in a move which could become permanent next summer.

And for London-born Arter, he admits the lure of a switch to the capital was tempting, particularly joining Fulham where his brother-in-law Scott Parker is manager.

He told FFCtv: "For me for obvious reasons with my family it was an easy option when it came to moving to Fulham, an easy decision.

"With all my family involved in the club it would be nice to be successful, for Scott and for myself. My little girl lives up here so it's a great move for me for family reasons.

"I've always had a desire to play for a club in London. Even since Scott signed here five or six years ago, I've always come and watched Fulham and it's great to be part of the club."

He added: "The manager really wanted me at the club. I think from the owner down to all the staff, it's clear that the target is to get promoted this year.

"It's a challenge that I want to be part of and I'm really looking forward to it."
