CAMERON Beard scored the late winner as Hamworthy United came from behind to defeat Poppies and continue their perfect start to the Wessex League Premier Division campaign.

Following on from their weekend 7-1 demolition of Solent University, Hamworthy trailed to a Jack Voisey strike, but turned the game around in the second half to win 2-1 thanks to goals from Beard and Brandon Randall.

Poppies finished the game with 10 men after Levi Ridehalgh picked up two yellow cards.

Brockenhurst added further woes to Solent, seeing them off 3-1 at Grigg Lane.

Gerson Ramos gave the hosts a narrow lead at the break before a quick-fire Jude Nwachukwu brace put the game out of reach.

Solent did hit back through Craig Hunt, but it proved to be mere consolation.

Lymington could not back up their opening day victory, going down 1-0 at AFC Stoneham, while Christchurch are still seeking their first win of the campaign following a 2-1 loss at Bashley.

Luke Stone gave the visitors a perfect start, but Bashley sealed the victory through goals from Jamie Webber and Conor Whiteley.

In Division One, Verwood suffered a disappointing 2-0 home loss against Andover New Street while Ringwood and New Milton played out a 1-1 draw at Long Lane.

Dominic Allen put the Linnets in front before Jordan Coltman responded to earn a share of the spoils.
