POOLE Town boss Tom Killick admitted he had been pleased to welcome back Marvin Brooks into the fold after his escapades on ITV hit show Love Island.

The Dolphins midfielder made his return to Black Gold Stadium from the famous Love Island Villa, during Saturday’s 2-0 friendly defeat to a Chelsea XI.

And Killick admitted his relief the star midfielder was stepping up his preparations for the Southern League South campaign.

He told the Daily Echo: “Marv is well liked socially. It’s a close-knit group and he is a good part of that.

“He has been a very big player for me for a number of years and I expect more good things from him this season.

“Now he can concentrate on his football, hopefully.

“I think there is a certain amount of admiration for putting himself out there in the way that he did. We are just pleased to have him back amongst us.”

Dolphins are set to host Yeovil Town in a friendly tomorrow (3pm).
