CHERRIES' interest in Jack Butland has "cooled" according to a report in the Daily Mail.

Butland has been linked with a move to Vitality Stadium all summer, but Cherries are said to be put off by Stoke's price tag of £30million, including a £25million up front fee for the England stopper.

The report states that the 26-year-old is keen on sealing a move back to the Premier League to boost his chances of making Gareth Southgate's national squad for Euro 2020 next summer.

But Cherries are now said to have "begun the process of identifying alternatives", which has taken them to Marcus Bettinelli.

The Fulham man, 27, played seven top-flight games for the Cottagers in 2018-19, taking his overall tally of matches played for the south-west London side to 106 since his debut in 2014.

Bettinelli earned two call-ups to the England senior squad last season.

Cherries have four senior goalkeepers in their current squad in Asmir Begovic, Artur Boruc, Mark Travers and Aaron Ramsdale.
