BROADSTONE are still in the mix to claim the Dorset Premier League title after a three-wicket success over Wimborne at the Leaze.

The visitors sealed their eighth win in 11 completed league games this season.

They are in third spot, just 14 points behind leaders Dorchester and four behind second-placed Poole Town.

Having opted to field first, Mike Holm was the pick of the Broadstone bowlers.

He returned figures of three for 20 from nine overs as defending league champions Wimborne were restricted to 165 for eight from 50 overs. In-form James Miller (42) top-scored for the Minstermen.

Broadstone looked to be struggling at 76 for five before Caleb Rowe (30) and Holm (23no) played key roles in getting their side over the line with 19 balls to spare.

Lewis Freak (2-23), Martin Baker (2-32) and Rob Hatchard (2-36) did the majority of the damage with the ball for Wimborne.
